Event Description

The Wichita Public Library is partnering with KMUW and StoryCorps, inviting you to take One Small Step with us. During this divisive time, One Small Step brings together two people from opposing political viewpoints and invites them to have a conversation with each other. KMUW has already recorded more than 25 conversations in the Wichita community, and the overwhelming takeaway has been that we have more in common than what divides us. During this virtual event, we will hear from the Institute for Civil Discourse and Democracy about why these conversations are so important. We'll hear excerpts from some real One Small Step conversations, and invite them back to the "table" to hear how these conversations have impacted their worldview.

One Small Step is an effort to remind the country of the humanity in all of us—even those we disagree with politically. If you're interested in being matched for a conversation, you can sign up at https://storycorps.org/discover/onesmallstep/.

This program will be held online via Zoom. Call (316) 261-8500 or click the ticket button above to register. A link to the program will be sent to your inbox the day before and the day of the program.
