The KMUW Artist Series began in the spring of 2004 as a way to highlight and promote Wichita's immense creative community. Each pledge drive KMUW selects a local artist. Their donated artwork is featured on the shirts and coffee mugs that serve as thank you gifts for KMUW members. 31 artists have been featured in the 17 years since the Artist Series inception.
KMUW's 2021 featured artist is Chiyoko Myose. Originally from Japan, Myose lives and works in Wichita, Kansas. Her works are primarily installation art and painting. In the last few years, Myose has had several large-scale solo exhibitions including at the Main Gallery of CityArts in Wichita, Mid-America Arts Alliance in Kansas City, Missouri, and Oklahoma Contemporary in Oklahoma City. She also collaborates with musicians and artists using different forms of art such as classical music, contemporary dance, and short film.
Stay tuned for the premiere of her artwork!
