Unearth a Story with the Summer Reading Program! Each summer, we encourage pre-readers, kids, and teens to read books, track their progress to earn free prizes, and explore fun, educational programs and activities with the Wichita Public Library.

The Summer Reading Program is for adults, too! Read any five books or complete five activities from a list provided by the Library to be entered into a grand prize drawing.

Start your weekends with movement, mindfulness and fresh air at Riverside Yoga at 9 am and Riverside Zumba at 10 am!

Every Saturday morning (May 9 – September 19), join us for a free community yoga and/or Zumba session along the scenic Arkansas River in the Wichita Foundation Amphitheater. Whether you’re well-experienced or new to the practice, this is your chance to flow and move under the open sky and connect with others in a beautiful outdoor setting overlooking the Keeper of the Plains.

Open to all ages and experience levels.

Learn the basics of 3D printing at the Wichita Public Library, and the best practices for optimizing prints for the library's Prusa printers. Older children are welcome with adult supervision, but users must be 14 years or older to be certified to print on their own.

We will hold additional auditions in September for our November Show.

We’re throwing it back with a 70s Decade Party and the opening of our 50th anniversary exhibit. Why the 70s? The museum opened in 1976, and that decade was a powerful era of cultural pride, activism, and visibility for Native communities. The American Indian Movement helped amplify Native voices, strengthen identity, and push for change—shaping the legacy we continue to honor today.
