About Yoga Time in the Galleries:
Join your little learner at WAM for a FREE, playful yoga experience on the second Saturday of each month at 10:30 AM or 11:00 AM! Led by certified instructor Christine Vumai (200-ERYT), each session features movement, music, art looking, and hands-on creativity. Yoga mats are provided, or bring your own.

Taking inspiration from Dan Friday’s work 'Sxwo’le Anchor', students will work on breathing techniques.

This class is geared toward children ages 2 to 6. Older siblings are welcome to join. An adult must accompany the children.

Submission to the USD259 Student Art Gallery is coordinated by Wichita Public Schools. Entries are selected by participating teachers, and individual students should contact their teacher for participation details.

Art is not only for Art Museums. If a picture is worth a thousand words, it stands to reason that art can tell us a lot about the times and place where it was produced. Local history museums exist to explore time and place.

Derby Arts Council: Veteran Art Show at the Derby Public Library

The exhibit is set to run Aug. 31 through Oct. 22 and will collect works from veteran artists across all mediums (fiber arts, photography, painting, metalwork, etc.) to be shown in the Gathering Space Gallery and display case at the library entrance.

As part of the exhibit, there will be awards up for grabs, with Aug. 4 the deadline to submit entries. There will also be a public reception — and awards presentation — for the exhibit on Sept. 18.

Newton Mid-Kansas Symphony Orchestra presents our 70 season - Symphonic Tales.
Our Fall Classics Concert - Rising will be presented on Sunday, October 11, 2026 at 4 p.m. at Bethel College Memorial Hall.
This side by side concert with the Newton High School Orchestra will feature Tales: A Folk Symphony and selections from Ravel's Mother Goose Suite & Stravinsky's Firebird Suite.
