The commission plans to vote on the new regulations next Wednesday.

The Republican primary campaign between Stephanie Wise and Greg Ferris got heated near the election, with PACs putting thousands of dollars into support for Ferris.

Two political action committees sent out mailers in support of former City Council member Greg Ferris. Ferris says he’s not working with either committee. His opponent, Stephanie Wise, says at least one mailer includes false information.

The primary election is Aug. 6. District 3 is the only county commission race with a primary this year.

Lacey Cruse lost her reelection bid this week to Ryan Baty.

Most of the contributions to Republican candidates were large donations from individuals, developers or local businesses.

Voters in Sedgwick County’s 5th District will soon decide on a county commissioner for the next four years.
