Ainsley Smyth (she/her pronouns) was formerly a summer intern for the KMUW News Lab. She currently works as a reporter for The Sunflower, the student-run newspaper at Wichita State University. She previously interned for the Wichita Journalism Collaborative, which KMUW is part of. Ainsley is studying journalism at WSU. In her free time she likes to cook, watch movies, and spend time with her girlfriend and their cat, Anya.

The Housing Trap event was held on January 28 with Charles Marohn at the Kansas Leadership Center. Marohn offered suggestions to create affordable housing options to 175 people who attended.

Wichita State University's housing and meal plan costs were approved by the Kansas Board of Regents on Wednesday. Residence rates will stay the same as this year while meal plan costs will go up by 3%, or $70 for the minimum plan.
