New in 2026 is the Derby Market at Third Thursday. The Derby Market will focus on vendors selling local produce, meat and dairy, baked goods, honey, salsa, homemade spices/mixes/sauces, etc., and homemade artisan crafts.

Third Thursday will include food, drinks, entertainment and live music, artists, booths, kid’s activities, and more.

The stand-alone Market will also include First Man Brewery, Shawarmas UR's and Taters N Toppings.

Drop in for casual chess at the library! All skill levels welcome. Boards will be provided just bring your curiosity and enjoy a relaxed, friendly gaming space.

We are a group of individuals practicing cultivation of the mind. All ages and people are welcome. Each week we have a thirty minute guided meditation followed by discussion. Our topics include meditation practice and living a life of compassion and contemplation. You do not need to have any experience to join and you will be welcomed by a very loving group of individuals. This is not a religious gathering. The first Winnie-the-Pooh book was published 100 years ago! Listen to a story about this famous bear and his friends from the 100 Acre Wood and enjoy activities based on the books. For ages 5-11.

The mid-terms are near. Drop by Evergreen between October 15 and November 2nd and cast a vote for your favorite book character. For ages 4-11.

Join us for a special event to view USD259 K-12 students’ artwork on display at the Wichita Art Museum! Exhibition on Display: September 19 – November 29, 2026

Submission to the USD259 Student Art Gallery is coordinated by Wichita Public Schools. Entries are selected by participating teachers, and individual students should contact their teacher for participation details.

Children ages 2 and under will develop a love of learning as they sing, dance, and enjoy simple stories. Caregivers will learn tips to encourage their child's early learning development. Please note this program will not take place on 11/27 at the Advanced Learning Library.

Puzzle and play your way through challenges based on familiar fairy tales in this outdoor event designed for children ages 5-8. In case of bad weather, this event will be altered for indoor play.

Art is not only for Art Museums. If a picture is worth a thousand words, it stands to reason that art can tell us a lot about the times and place where it was produced. Local history museums exist to explore time and place.

Featuring works from C.A. Seward, John Noble, Edmund Davison, Birger Sandzen, Bruce McGrew, and more!

On view on the Historical Museum's 3rd Floor, throughout 2026 as part of the ongoing Lois Kay Walls visual art exhibition series produced by the Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum.
