Piper Pinnetti
News Lab InternPiper Pinnetti is a News Lab intern for KMUW. She currently works as a reporter and photographer for The Sunflower, the student-led newspaper at Wichita State University. Pinnetti is a senior, majoring in journalism and media production. She plans to graduate from WSU in the fall of 2025 and pursue a career in journalism. In her free time, she likes to read books, write in her journal, and do other various crafts next to her cat, Marigold.

Banned Books Week began in 1982 in response to the number of books being challenged in libraries and schools.

At the United Methodist Open Door Homeless Resource and Referral Center those in need of laundry services can sign up once a day to get a load of laundry washed. Each person is given a pillowcase to put their laundry in. This helps keep their items together and limit the load size.
