Wichita’s Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport received high marks in a new survey that ranks customer satisfaction. As KMUW’s Nadya Faulx reports, travelers rated the airport using a mobile app on their phones.

Eisenhower came in fourth among small-hub airports in this year’s survey, which was conducted between November 2015 and February 2016.

The app AirportXP asks travelers to rate their experiences on a seven-point scale. It rates the country’s 250 busiest airports based on several areas, including parking facilities, airline check-in processes, TSA security checkpoints and amenities. The airport’s new terminal opened last June after almost three years of construction.

Wichita Mayor Jeff Longwell said at his weekly briefing that he is thrilled at the recognition for the new terminal.

“It’s not just a great place to visually enjoy traveling, but they do a great job to make the whole experience satisfying for those that are traveling," he said.

Eisenhower received an 89 percent overall rating in the survey, with above-average scores in all areas.
