Ballet Wichita

Ballet Wichita is taking Lewis Carroll’s classic “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” on the road as the company travels around the state. The moveable visuals of "Wonderland" come courtesy of a partnership with Shocker Studios.

Dancers auditioned in February for iconic characters like Alice, the Mad Hatter, and the Cheshire Cat. Smaller roles include dancing tulips, roses, card soldiers and knaves.

Ballet is an art form. And costuming a ballet is a specialized craft that involves cutting, sewing, structural engineering, and lots of math.

The tour opens in Ottawa on Friday. After that, it visits Friends University in Wichita June 26-27, the Granada Theatre in Emporia on July 11, and the McPherson Opera House on July 18.
