Several important local races will be decided in Tuesday's primary election. These are just some of the races we'll be following tomorrow during our live coverage of statewide primary elections (8 to 10 p.m. on KMUW 89.1 FM). U.S. Senate
Republican race:

U.S. Sen. Jerry Moran, first elected to Congress in 1996, faces former Osawatomie councilwoman D.J. Smith for the second time (she also ran in 2014) in the Republican primary.
Democratic race:

Radio host Monique Singh and tax attorney Patrick Wiesner are running in the Democratic primary.
U.S. House District 1

"Big First" Congressman Tim Huelskamp faces physician Roger Marshall in the Republican primary. Already Marshall has the backing of the same agricultural groups who helped get Huelskamp elected in the first place.
U.S. House District 4

Former Sedgwick County prosecutor Dan Giroux and 2012 candidate Robert Tillman are on the Democratic primary ballot running for the seat currently held by Republican Kansas Rep. Mike Pompeo.
U.S. House District 3
Republican race:

Inbumbent Kevin Yoder faces Greg Goode in the Republican primary.
Democratic race:

Three candidates--Reggie Marselus, Nathaniel McLaughlin and Jay Sidie--are on the Democratic primary ballot.
Sedgwick County Commission District 3

Commissioner Karl Peterjohn faces David Dennis in the primary for Sedgwick County's District 3 seat. The results of the primary election could determine the future of the commission's conservative majority.
Senate District 14
Republican race:

Sen. Forrest Knox, who was elected to Kansas House District 13 in 2004 and to the Kansas Senate in 2012, goes against Bruce Givens, assistant director of special education with the Butler County Special Education Cooperative.
Democratic race:

Carl Shay and Mark Pringle are running for a spot on the general ballot.
Senate District 16

Sen. Ty Masterson, chair of the Senate Ways and Means Committee since 2013, goes up against Andover City Council member Troy Tabor in the Republican primary. Read more about the race here.
Senate District 25
First-time candidates William Eveland and Jim Price are running in the Republican primary for former Sen. Michael O'Donnell's seat as he runs for Sedgwick County Commissioner. Senate District 27

Kansas State Rep. Gene Suellentrop (District 91) will go against computer programmer Lori Graham ?in the Republican primary.
Senate District 28

Republican incumbent Mike Petersen, who was first elected to Senate in 2005, will face Jo Hillman in the Republican primary.
Senate District 31

Incumbent Carolyn McGinn, who was first elected to the Kansas Senate in 2004, will face Renee Erickson in the Republican primary.
Senate District 34

Incumbent Terry Bruce, first elected to the Kansas Senate in 2004, faces retired educator Ed Berger in the Republican primary.
House District 75

Incumbent Will Carpenter, who was first elected to the Kansas House in 2012, will go against recently retired educator Mary Martha Good on the Republican ballot.
House District 80

Kasha Kelley, first elected in 2005, faces Anita Judd-Jenkins in the Republican primary.
House District 87
Republican candidates Roger Elliott and Jeremy Alessi are running for a shot at legislator Mark Kahrs' seat. Kahrs announced he will retire after his term ends in January.
House District 91

Candidates Greg Lakin and J.C. Moore will face off on the Republican ballot for a shot at the seat being vacated by former Rep. Gene Suellentrop, who is running for Kansas Senate District 27.
House District 94
Republican race:

Scott Anderson and Leo Delperdang are running in the Republican primary for the seat previously held by Mario Goico.
House District 98

Steven Crum and Justin Kraemer are running in the Democratic primary to face Republican incumbent Steve Anthimides in the general election.
House District 104

Incumbent Steven Becker, first elected in 2013, faces Lowell J. Peachey in the Republican primary.
House District 114

Incumbent Jack Thimesch, elected to the House in 2012, faces State Farm agent Herchel Crainer in the Republican primary.
