The newest member of Wichita's school board will be selected from three candidates.

Applications for the 3rd District seat, which covers portions of southeast Wichita, closed yesterday. The seat opened up when Barbara Fuller resigned last month.

According to the school district, the three candidates are Sondra Luke, Ernestine Krehbiel and Rhonda Cox.

Board members will interview the applicants during a special meeting Dec. 6 at 5:30 p.m at Wichita's North High School. The board plans on making the appointment on Dec. 11. The new member will start with the newly elected school board in January.
