Bishop Herman Hicks, Bishop of the Kansas Southwest Jurisdiction and Senior Pastor of Greater Pentecostal Church of God in Christ in Wichita, was the featured preacher at the Greater Wichita Ministerial League’s MLK Worship Celebration event at the Wichita State University Metroplex.

Wichita clergy, political leaders, and community members took part in the Greater Wichita Ministerial League’s annual MLK Worship Celebration at the Wichita State University Metroplex on Monday, January 19. Several guests were on the program, including keynote preacher Bishop Herman Hicks, musician/director Cameo Profit, singer Tamiah Johnson, WSU President Rick Muma and singer Paris Cunningham.

Carla Eckels is Director of Organizational Culture at KMUW. She produces and hosts the R&B and gospel show Soulsations and brings stories of race and culture to The Range with the monthly segment In the Mix. Carla was inducted into The Kansas African American Museum's Trailblazers Hall of Fame in 2020 for her work in broadcast/journalism.
