Next Best Thing: Halloween Treats And Tai Chi

Courtesy Tanganyika Wildlife Park

Halloween will be here soon, and there are plenty of ways to celebrate outdoors with the little ones:

Sedgwick County Zoo presents Boo at the Zoo on Saturday, October 24. Regular zoo admission will get you access to Halloween fun and games — and candy — from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There’s more at scz.org.

Bring a treat bag, wear costumes and decorate your car for Drive-Boo Trick-or-Treat at OJ Watson Park. From 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 24 (or until candy runs out!) guests can drive through the park to receive candy and prizes from vendors. Visit OJ Watson Park’s Facebook page to find out more.

Coffins and Cobwebs at Cowtown will take place from 12 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25. This outdoor event is family-friendly, though there will be ghost sightings and an appearance by the Headless Horseman. Details are at oldcowtown.org.

Trick-or-Treat Days at Tanganyika will take place over Halloween weekend, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., October 30 through November 1. Halloween activities, take-home crafts, a mini pumpkin patch and more will be scattered throughout the park — and of course, there will be animals. Admission reservations can be made at twpark.com.

And this last one isn’t Halloween related, but consider it an extra treat:

Botanica is hosting Tai Chi in the Gardens, and although one of the classes has already passed, there are three more opportunities from 6 to 7 p.m. on October 15, 22 and 29. All the info is at botanica.org.
