The KMUW News team recently received two regional Edward R. Murrow awards from the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) for excellence in journalism produced in 2016.

The RTDNA recognized news director Aileen LeBlanc and assistant news director Carla Eckels for their feature Then And Now: The Summer Of Justice. The piece looked at the quarter-century between the Summer of Mercy and the Summer of Justice and the return of Operation Save America protesters to Wichita to pray, demonstrate, and try to stop abortions.

Digital news editor Nadya Faulx and director of marketing and digital content Beth Golay were honored for their Primary Primer video, which explained the voting process ahead of the 2016 August primary in Kansas.
