Released in 2013, Southeastern was the breakthrough album from singer-songwriter Jason Isbell. We’ll hear music from that recording as well as selections from Lilly Hiatt’s Trinity Lane.

Friday, March 20

Perhaps best known for his work with the New Orleans band The Deslondes, Sam Doores has just released his self-titled solo debut album. The record marries elements of traditional roots music with the sounds of psychedelia and tasteful doses of the avant-garde. We’ll hear selections from that as well as music from Kiko by Los Lobos.

Listen for selections from Dogman, the 1994 effort from King’s X as well as songs from Circle of Dolls, the 2019 effort from KXM, featuring King’s X bassist/vocalist Doug Pinnick, former Dokken guitarist George Lynch and Korn drummer Ray Luzier.

Jedd Beaudoin is host/producer of the nationally syndicated program Strange Currency. He created and host the podcast Into Music, which examines musical mentorship and creative approaches to the composition, recording and performance of songs. As a music journalist, his work has appeared in PopMatters, Vox, No Depression and Keyboard Magazine.
