Afraid of Ghosts is the latest release from singer-songwriter Butch Walker. The album is a quieter, more serious turn from Walker, who is also an acclaimed producer, and features a guest appearance from actor Johnny Depp, who was brought in at the suggestion of Ryan Adams, who oversaw the sessions for the album. We’ll hear from that recording as well as from the new recording by singer-songwriter Chadwick Stokes.
Wednesday, February 11
New Orleans-based musician Benjamin Booker created a stir with 2014 release and returns now with a live album recorded at Jack White’s Third Man venue in Nashville. This new album features many of the songs that appeared on Booker’s 2014 album but with a new urgency heard only in the live arena. We’ll also hear music from the new release by the UK-based The Temperance Movement, a band that recalls the sounds of British bands such as the Rolling Stones, Faces, and other key acts of the 1970s.

We’ll hear from the debut solo album from Danny Kroha. The founding member of The Gories, Kroha plays banjo, dulcimer, jug and other roots-related instruments on his new album, Angels Watching Over Me. We’ll hear selections from that as well as from Terraplane, the new release by Steve Earle and The Dukes.

We’ll hear selections from the new self-titled recording by singer-songwriter Natalie Prass and On Your Own Love Again, the new recording from Jessica Pratt.
Saturday, February 14
It’s our annual Valentine’s Day celebration with selections from featured artists Steve Earle and the Avett Brothers as well as music from Elvis Costello, Paul McCartney, and Los Lobos.
Monday, February 16
Ice Queen is the 2014 release by Kansas-based singer-songwriter Annie Palmer, who performs under the name Evasive Flowers. Although the music has tinges of the experimental the songwriting is a reminder that Palmer remains firmly rooted in tradition. We’ll hear selections from Ice Queen as well as more music from the latest recording by Bjork.
