Wichita Event Will Collect 'Fresh Start Bags' For Victims, Survivors Of Human Trafficking

Several Wichita food trucks are hosting an event Saturday to collect supplies for a local organization that works to end human trafficking.

ICT SOS is collecting a variety of bags packed with basic items such as toiletries, clothes and books, to give to agencies that serve at-risk youth. The “fresh start bags” will go to young victims and survivors of trafficking and abuse.

The organization says when local agencies come into contact with victims and survivors of trafficking and abuse, they’re often in need of basic necessities.

Donations will be collected from 11 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the pop-up park in downtown Wichita.

For teen girls, the organization is asking for:

  • Duffel Bag
  • 2 sports bras
  • 1 package bikini briefs
  • 1 pair dark sweat pants
  • 1 pair yoga pants
  • 1 t-shirt
  • 1 tank top
  • 1 hooded sweatshirt
  • 1 package ankle socks
  • 1 deodorant
  • 1 shampoo- full size
  • 1 conditioner- full size
  • 1 toothbrush
  • 1 toothpaste
  • 1 body wash
  • 1 body lotion
  • 1 facial wash
  • 1 hairbrush
  • 1 small package pads/tampons
  • 1 journal
  • 1 pen
  • 1 $5-10 fast food gift card

For teen boys:

  • 1 package boxer shorts
  • 1 pair athletic shorts
  • 1 package athletic socks
