At 4:56pm the National Weather Service reports the snow is winding down in the Wichita area. They recorded 14.2 inches of snow as of 4:40 pm, just shy of the all-time record of 15 inches.

As of 3:45pm, the National Weather Service reports Wichita is in the number two all-time multi-day snowstorm, with 14.0 inches being recorded.

The National Weather Service has recorded 12.5 inches of snow at the NWS Wichita center at 2:30pm. That puts this storm into the top five of biggest storms for Wichita.

According to the US National Weather Service, the following are the top five worst snowstorms to ever hit Wichita.
- 15.0" on January 17-18, 1962
- 13.6" on March 15-16, 1970
- 12.8" on February 21-22, 1971
- 12.8" on December 23-24, 1918
- 12.0" on March 9, 1909
They also report the ongoing storm is on target to break into the top five of multi-day snowstorms with 11.8" of snow measured at noon with more continuing to fall.
