Jaylyn Agnew is smart on and off the court.

She graduated from Creighton University in Omaha with a 3.79 grade point average. She also excelled on the hardwood.

Agnew led her team in scoring, averaging 20 points per game. She also led the nation in free-throw percentage and was named Big East Player of the Year.

A 5-foot-11 forward, Agnew scored a career high 43 points in her final home game, Senior Day, at Creighton.

Intrust Bank Arena will host the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament in 2022.

Wichita was one of four cities selected to host Sweet 16 and Elite Eight games that year. Wichita State University will serve as the host school.

"It's another great day for sports in Wichita," Brian Hargrove, executive director of sports for Visit Wichita, said Wednesday. "We are looking forward to providing another energetic welcome to basketball fans to Wichita in 2022. The announcement today reaffirms that Wichita is a sports destination in the Midwest."

Updated at 4:50 p.m. Monday: Wichita State University is replacing women's basketball coach Jody Adams-Birch in what it called an amicable parting.

A news release issued Sunday did not say whether Adams-Birch was fired or resigned. At a press conference Monday, Wichita State University officials remained tight-lipped about the departure, except to say they "mutually and amicably agreed to part ways."
