Women's History Month + National Poultry Day Celebrations

Friday, March 19, and Sunday March 21

Crossroads continues the March Women's History Month Feature with music from three artists born on March 20th - Gulf Coast blues piano favorite Marcia Ball, the Queen of New Orleans Blues Marva Wright, and gospel guitar great Sister Rosetta Tharpe (also featured in a special in hour two of the show).

And because no good holiday should go to waste, Crossroads celebrates National Poultry Day (March 19th) with some Grade A cuts from Little Feat, the Rolling Stones, Lloyd Jones, Louis Jordan, Jimmy Smith, Chickenbone Slim, and Super Chikan to mark the occasion.

Chris Heim produces and hosts Global Village, a nationally and internationally distributed world music show; the nightly jazz show Night Train, and Crossroads, KMUW’s twice-weekly blues and R&B show. Chris is also a critic and freelance writer whose work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Utne, Global Rhythm, Dirty Linen, and Option, among others.
