Monday, July 27

Night Train wraps up the Summer Festival Month feature with a week-long celebration of the stunning solo piano series recorded at the Maybeck Recital Hall, with music tonight from piano legend Hank Jones and then-rising star Ted Rosenthal. The show also begins a week-long tribute to vocalist Annie Ross, who passed away last week – tonight with a couple of classics she did as part of Lambert, Hendricks & Ross and a release she did under her own name with baritone sax legend Gerry Mulligan. We’ll also mark birthdays of singer Karrin Allyson and pianist Edward Simon, and highlight new music from Jason Marsalis, Eric Alexander, Michael Dease, the BK Trio, and Christian Tamburr.
