Booker T And The MGs Plus John Mayall’s Birthday

Crossroads wraps up a month-long salute to Booker T & the MGs in honor of the November birthdays of band members Booker T. Jones, Duck Dunn and Al Jackson, Jr. We’ll hear them in various combinations with Al Green, Bill Withers, Muddy Waters, and Poncho Sanchez – along with music from the last MGs album for Stax, and their recording of “Time is Tight” that was originally done for a 1968 film.
Also this time, music from John Mayall for his birthday, including Mayall with the Bluesbreakers doing a Mose Allison classic (the November featured artist on Night Train) and a concert special with Mayall in hour two of the show.
New music on Crossroads this time includes selections from Kim Wilson, Dave Riley with Bob Corritore. Kevin Burt, Lloyd Jones, and Maceo Parker.

Chris Heim produces and hosts Global Village, a nationally and internationally distributed world music show; the nightly jazz show Night Train, and Crossroads, KMUW’s twice-weekly blues and R&B show.
