Candidate Forum To Take Place Sunday At Wichita State

With the August 7 primary approaching, voters will have the opportunity to hear from some of the candidates.

The Wichita Voter Empowerment 2012 Committee will sponsor a Community Candidates Forum at a church near Wichita State this Sunday.

Candidates running for office on the National, State and Local level have confirmed their attendance at the forum.

Several candidates will participate in a question and answer period after their platform presentations.  A meet the candidate reception will follow. 

Former State Representative Melody Miller will be one of the moderators of the event.

The forum will take place at Wichita’s Dellrose United Methodist Church on the corner of 15th and Dellrose this Sunday from 4-6pm.

Carla Eckels is Director of Organizational Culture at KMUW. She produces and hosts the R&B and gospel show Soulsations and brings stories of race and culture to The Range with the monthly segment In the Mix. Carla was inducted into The Kansas African American Museum's Trailblazers Hall of Fame in 2020 for her work in broadcast/journalism.
