Wichita Park And Rec Looking To Fill 200+ Jobs

City of Wichita

Wichita Park and Recreation will host a job fair this week with more than 200 positions. Full-time and part-time positions are available.

Opportunities include work in golf courses, recreation centers, aquatics and pools, park maintenance and more. More than 20 booths will be open.

"We don’t need a whole lot of experience," said Park and Recreation director Troy Houtman. "I think it’s just a matter of their ability to show up on time, be interested in doing something in the parks, because we train them and teach them for about 95 percent of the work that’s actually going to be done."

Many of the jobs are seasonal, Houtman said.

"In summertime we hire close to a 100 to help us with our summer camps and some of our recreation centers," he said. "And then we’ll probably be hiring another 100 seasonal positions for park maintenance and operations."

Attendees should bring an updated resume. The job fair from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27, at Century II Exhibition Hall. More information is at the city's website.
