The Siemens plant in Hutchinson will soon provide more than 60 nacelles for a new wind farm in Oklahoma.

Siemens has announced they’ll be building, installing and servicing 66 wind turbines for Apex Clean Energy. The wind farm will be located in Grant County, Oklahoma and construction is set to begin next month.

The Siemens plant in Hutchinson produces nacelles, which allow blades to rotate atop a wind turbine. Each of the 66 nacelles for the wind farm are to be assembled at the Hutchinson plant.

Once completed, the wind farm in Grant County, Oklahoma, will be owned by Southern Power, which provides energy to a handful of states.

This is the second project that both Siemens and Apex Clean Energy have teamed up for. The first was wind farm that’s nearly complete in Kay County, Oklahoma, which Westar Energy will purchase electricity from.
