Commerce Department Gives $1M To Wichita State's Innovation Campus

Wichita State University is getting more than $1 million from the U.S. Commerce Department for its Innovation Campus.

The Commerce Department's Economic Development Administration announced the grant in a release Monday. The grant is designated for the Innovation Campus's first building, the Experiential Engineering Building. Roads and water infrastructure will be upgraded in support of the building on the WSU campus.

'Innovation' is the word at Wichita state: The building is expected to be the kickoff to engage businesses, train students and create 448 experiential engineering jobs in a three-year period.
