Authorities in Manhattan and Lawrence investigating a possible serial rapist have re-released a composite sketch of a man they want to talk with in connection with the case.
Last July, the Riley County Police Department and Lawrence Police Department announced they were working to solve multiple rapes in Manhattan and Lawrence that began in 2000 and appear to be connected. They released a composite sketch of a man who was seen near the first rape, in Manhattan in 2000, but it did not generate any new leads.
The man, thought to be in his 30s, was 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall with a medium athletic build and medium-length sandy blond hair. Authorities said it is unknown whether the man was connected to the incident, but they want to speak with him to determine whether he could provide any information.
Anyone who recognizes the man can call Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers at 785-539-7777.
