In this timely tale Vonnie Ivers defies social conditioning, confronts her perpetrator and finds, like Dorothy in Oz, the way home. Meeting a crusty pastor turned community organizer, Vonnie faces inner demons and battles outer ones. Alchemizing fear, rage, joy and pain, she becomes a flexible and strong bow in the hands of the master organizer. A story of personal and community triumph, she sends forth the arrows of a young mother fleeing her war-torn village, and a woman who crossed a river six times to meet their mark. An ode to the power of relationship.
