Yes, it’s true. It’s been 11 years since “The Dead Can’t Dance” was first unleashed on the unsuspecting movie-going public! But it made history. It’s the first underground Native American zombie feature film made against all odds, and went on to screen at film festivals and television around the world.
Low budget, you say? Just watch what we can pull off! Zombies, you ask? More than 150 Wichitans are featured as extras! Zombie strippers, you balk? Yes, we have those, too!
In this comedy/drama, three Comanche men discover they are somehow immune to a mysterious plague that is killing everyone else and turning them into zombies. As they escape to a remote school in the Kansas countryside, they find that survival isn’t the only lesson they will learn.
Shot over the course of 6 months with an all-local Kansas cast and crew, the film’s cast includes Rodrick Pocowatchit, Guy Ray Pocowatchit, T.J. Williams, Randall Aviks and Wade Hampton. It’s produced by Deanie Eaton and Rodrick Pocowatchit. Made with the assistance of the Tallgrass Film Association and the crazy, dedicated, film-loving community that can only be found in Wichita.
