Shocker Store To Open Second Retail Location On Innovation Campus
Wichita State University will expand its merchandise offering with the addition of a 2,800-square-foot retail location.
Shocker Store, formerly the University Bookstore, is opening a second location in late September on the university’s Innovation Campus.
The store will be located at Braeburn Square, a 20-acre mixed-use retail development near the intersection of 21st Street and Oliver on what was formerly Braeburn Golf Course.
Shocker Store is the second tenant, after Starbucks, to commit to Braeburn Square.
Andi Stipp, director of Shocker Store, said having a location on Braeburn Square will help alleviate some of the pressure customers face parking on campus.
“This is a place where people can drive right up to the front entrance, get out, and be able to shop the merchandise without hesitation or concerns about parking,” she said.
The retailer will house an expanded line of fan apparel with exclusive items that aren’t currently available at its location in the Rhatigan Student Center. Textbooks will not be sold at the new location.
“This’ll be an opportunity for us to bring in some new lines, some exclusivities that we won’t have anywhere else,” she said.
