Business Summit To Emphasize Impact Of Federal Policies And Regulations
More than 150 Kansas business owners will attend the Kansas Chamber's 2017 Congressional Summit this Friday in Wichita.
The summit will provide area business leaders with more information about policy and regulatory issues at the federal level.
U.S. Sen. Pat Roberts, as well as U.S. Reps. Lynn Jenkins, Kevin Yoder, and Ron Estes, are scheduled to participate in a 90-minute question and answer session. Gary Plummer, president of the Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce, will be co-hosting the summit.
"I expect there will be more conversations about healthcare reform, tax reform and possible changes down the road to our trade policies," Plummer says. "We're also following the new ag bill that Sen. Roberts is leading the conversation on."
Attendees also will hear from John Murphy, senior vice-president of international affairs for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. He's expected to share where international trade is headed, as well as discuss NAFTA and the Korean and Asian markets.
The summit will be on Friday at noon in Wichita at the Hotel in Old Town.
