Boeing officials say they will begin actively marketing the company's Wichita defense facilities by the end of January.
Company spokeswoman Kathleen Spicer says Boeing is working with the national real estate firm CBRE Group of Los Angeles to arrange the sale of the property.
The company announced last year that it would close the Wichita plant and move the work to Oklahoma, Texas, and the Pacific Northwest. Boeing owns 97 buildings on 413 acres in Wichita, with properties ranging from large hangers to tool sheds. The company has done some preparation work on the site, including separating utilities and doing some environmental remediation.
Spicer wouldn't say how much interest the company has received.
