You can share your thoughts on the future of Century II Performing Arts & Convention Center at several meetings coming up soon.

There's one tonight at 5:30 pm, and another on Monday night--both at Century II.

The meeting kicks off Phase Two of a project exploring Century II's potential for growth as the city of Wichita grows. In 2013, Convention Sports & Leisure International--or CS&L--conducted a market assessment studythat showed Wichita could grow its convention and performance arts business...with industry-standard facilities.

CS&L outline three scenarios in its study.

Wichita could:

1. Leave the convention center as is.

2. Build a new convention center with renovated Century II, plus new Hyatt hotel rooms.

3. Build a new convention center and performing arts center with redeveloped Century II site and new Hyatt hotel rooms.

The architectural team Populous as well as architectural consultants GLMV, will be gathering public to help develop facility concepts and budgets for the scenarios.

Both meetings

will be held in Meeting Room 101 at Century II in downtown Wichita, at 5:30 pm.

There is a meeting TONIGHT and one MONDAY.

Phase II is expected to be complete by June 2014. It will be followed by Phase III, which will be a cost/benefit analysis.
