It's a scorcher out there, Wichita. Here's how to stay cool

City of Wichita

Wichita public libraries and neighborhood resource centers serve as community cooling centers, with air-conditioning and water available.

The National Weather Service has placed Wichita under a dangerous heat advisory Monday, with temperatures over 100 degrees.

The American Red Cross advises people to stay hydrated and limit their time outdoors. People with pets should also make sure they have adequate shelter and water.

City officials also are urging people to check on neighbors, older adults, and family members who may not have good cooling.
