Fifty years ago today, millions of Americans took to the streets to fight for environmental reform. It was the birth of the modern environmental movement and led to what we know now as Earth Day.

The movement led to new regulations including, the Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act. And that same year as the first Earth Day, theEnvironmental Protection Agency was created.

We’ll talk more about these milestones, the future direction of the environmental movement and the state of environmental regulations with a variety of perspectives.

What impact has Earth Day had? How are some countries moving toward an economy free of fossil fuels? And how is the pandemic changing environmental policy?
