It’s Uncommon Instruments Awareness Day, and Night Train joins in with Global Village and Strange Currency tonight to celebrate. We’ll hear instruments, while perhaps common in other styles of music and other parts of the world, are not so common in jazz – including bagpipes, harps, recorder, piccolo, mbira, tabla, harmonica, mandolin and more. Among the artists featured are the Kora Band, Carol Robbins, Rabih Abou-Khalil, James Carter, Eddie Harris, and Yusef Lateef.
