As is our annual Memorial Day tradition, Night Train steps aside for two special hours with the premier jazz ensemble of the United States Air Force, the Airmen of Note. We will hear them in hour one with special guest drummer Butch Miles, and they are joined by trombonist Andy Martin in hour two of the show.

Night Train marks birthdays of saxophonists Bud Shank and Jim Snidero (from his new album in tribute to Charlie Parker), bassist Niels Henning Orsted Pedersen (with Oscar Peterson), and pianists Marc Copland and Gonzalo Rubalcaba. It’s also the birthday of singer Dee Dee Bridgewater and we’ll hear her in hour one with Bill Charlap from their new album (and our Featured New Release of the Week), Elemental, and in a special in hour two of the show.
