Blues Birthdays – Mark Hummel, Lucky Peterson, Lurrie Bell

December 13/15

Crossroads marks birthdays of harmonica player Lurrie Bell Mark Hummel, both with new releases, and we remember keyboard player Lucky Peterson for his birthday with an album he did in tribute to organ great Jimmy Smith.

We’ll hear new music from Duke Robillard and Bloodest Saxophone, along with Ben Levin’s new “Holiday Blues Revue.”

Then in hour two, we continue the birthday celebrations with a Lurrie Bell special.

Chris Heim produces and hosts Global Village, a nationally and internationally distributed world music show; the nightly jazz show Night Train, and Crossroads, KMUW’s twice-weekly blues and R&B show.
