Going To New Orleans

Friday, December 19 and Sunday, December 19

Crossroads celebrates several Crescent City birthdays – with music from pianist James Booker, Art Neville of The Neville Brothers and The Meters, trumpeter Kermit Ruffins, and singer and pianist Professor Longhair (featured also in a special in hour two). Plus, new music, classic recordings and some blues holiday releases that just came out this season.

Chris Heim produces and hosts Global Village, a nationally and internationally distributed world music show; the nightly jazz show Night Train, and Crossroads, KMUW’s twice-weekly blues and R&B show. Chris is also a critic and freelance writer whose work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Utne, Global Rhythm, Dirty Linen, and Option, among others.
