Buddy Guy/Blues Blast Nominees + Tony Joe White

Friday, July 23, and Sunday, July 25

Crossroads continues the July feature celebrating the 85th birthday of blues great Buddy Guy and showcasing this year’s Blues Blast Music Awards nominees.

There’s also new music from Chris Cain, Dexter Allen, Kelly’s Lot, Donna Herula and Gerald McClendon, and classics from Guitar Slim and Aretha Franklin.

And Crossroads remembers swamp blues singer and songwriter Tony Joe White for his July 23 birthday with music from his more recent albums, a new album of previously unreleased material, and a special featuring an interview and music in hour two.

Chris Heim produces and hosts Global Village, a nationally and internationally distributed world music show; the nightly jazz show Night Train, and Crossroads, KMUW’s twice-weekly blues and R&B show. Chris is also a critic and freelance writer whose work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Utne, Global Rhythm, Dirty Linen, and Option, among others.
