I guess some people think it was Frank Lloyd Wrong
But I like my buildings covered with a big blue dome.
It’s a genuine beauty and a little bit weird
It’s a UFO that an alien steered
Into downtown Wichita and that’s where it made its home
Don’t jerk it around, though it looks like a giant yoyo
The county landfill is no place that it should go
If you knock down everything that’s no longer new
Half of us would be demolished by the wrecking crew
So don’t knock it down – don’t knock Century II
Our city is just coming into its own
You see our flag everywhere that it can be flown
We’ve got the Arkansas River and the Keeper of the Plains is swell
But that’s not the only keeper that our city’s got
We got something else terrific that others do not
I think that Century II has got to be a keeper as well.
