Hear music from 70s funk and disco group KC and The Sunshine Band. Lead singer, Harry Wayne Casey ("KC") tells Forbes.com how he came to co-write the popular tune, "I’m Your Boogie Man":
"'I'm Your Boogie Man" was written because I would fill in for my friend who was a DJ. Just growing up listening to the radio stations and how much interaction the DJs had, not only in my life but everybody's life growing up because they sometimes became the key people who we listened to every day and every night, they're always there. I just considered them the boogie man, 'I'm your boogie man, that's what I am/I'm here to do whatever I can/Be it early morning, late afternoon or midnight/It's never too soon.' So it was off that experience I created that lyric. I was thinking about the DJs being the key point of that."
The song, released in 1977, became an international hit. KC and The Sunshine Band will be in concert November 16 at the Stiefel Theatre in Salina, Kansas.
