In his new coming-of-age novel, Playworld, author Adam Ross writes about a child actor who must also deal with school, young crushes, adults behaving badly, and the many challenges that come with being a teenage. As he told KMUW's Beth Golay, this fictional account rhymes with his own life.

Plus more on these stories:

  • The US Department of Labor has filed suit against a gentlemen's club located just outside Wichita's city limits for allegedly failing to pay full wages to its dancers.
  • Jacqueline Kelly was sworn in Monday as a Judge for the 18th Judicial District, which covers Sedgwick County.
  • New rules in the Kansas House of Representatives will put journalists farther away from the legislative process.
  • A public meeting will be held Thursday to discuss the future of Wichita’s transit network.
  • History was made in Johnson County Monday when the first Black sheriff and first female undersheriff took office.
  • Spirit AeroSystems has completed the $165 million dollar sale of a material and composite-building company.
