This week on The Range, a video artist overcomes the blahs of the pandemic to try something new, and agritourism—a fancy name for a pumpkin patch.

Autumn in Kansas means pumpkin patches, orchards, hay rides and corn mazes. It also means big business for the state’s agritourism industry. Suzanne Perez spent time at one business in Clearwater.

Plus, Maxx James has made videos since he was a kid growing up in Wichita. He was inspired by early YouTube stars and has a history of producing videos designed to go viral.

His newest video revisits one of his earliest YouTube influences.

Torin Andersen spoke with James about exploring a new art form for him: the documentary.

KMUW News is a team of dedicated on-air and digital reporters working to tell the stories of Wichita and its residents.
