'Mayday' from Gooding

Mayday is the new release from Nashville-based musician Gooding, who spent his formative years in Kansas. The LP was recorded in quarantine earlier in 2020. Listen for music from that as well as songs from The Ascension from Sufjan Stevens.

Released in 1979, UFO’s Strangers In The Night is considered one of the quintessential live LPs of the decade and features the guitar work of German-born prodigy Michael Schenker, who left the band for more than a decade after the album’s release. Listen for selections from that recording as well as music from the Michael Schenker Group’s 1984 live set Rock Will Never Die.

'Mirrored Aztec' from Guided by Voices

Released in 1983, Plays Live was the first live solo album from former Genesis vocalist Peter Gabriel. We’ll hear music from it as well as from the 1982 Genesis double LP Three Sides Live, which captured the Phil Collins-fronted version of the band on the road in support of its 1981 smash hit Abacab as well as five new studio recordings and three live cuts from previous tours. We’ll hear music from both on this episode.
