Released in 1971, Just As I Am is the debut album by late soul singer Bill Withers. Produced by Booker T. Jones, the album is notable for its inclusion of the song “Ain’t No Sunshine,” perhaps Withers’ best-known song. Having sold over 10 million copies worldwide, it is one of the best-selling live albums of all-time. We’ll hear music from it on this episode as well as selections from Blow Your Face Out, a live album from the J. Geils Band, also issued in 1976.

XOXO is the brand-new album from Minnesota’s The Jayhawks. It is the band’s most collaborative album to date, marking a new era 35 years after the group was founded in Minneapolis/St. Paul. We’ll hear music from that release as well as selections from the band Golden Smog.

A Brand-New Shade of Blue is the new release from Chris Stamey & the Fellow Travelers; we’ll hear music from that recording as well as songs from Los Lobos’ Kiko release.
