Some Kansas lawmakers have decided to turn down additional pay as the Legislature heads past its 90-day session limit.
The 90-day deadline passed on Thursday. Lawmakers have missed their deadline 32 of the last 40 years.
And each extra day of the session is estimated to cost taxpayers $45 thousand dollars.
A list provided by Legislative Administrative Services shows that five of 40 senators and 17 of 125 House members have declined the legislative salaries they'll accrue after the 90th day of session.
Representative Brandon Whipple of Wichita says he's donating the rest of his salary this session to charity.
