Wichita Asian Association is hosting a Kick-off celebration to celebrate the Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month sponsored by the Spice Merchant. The event will be on Saturday, May 4th from 2.00-4.00pm at the old town plaza at E 2nd St North, Wichita, 67213.
The event will be no-cost, open to all, and family friendly. There is something for everyone at this event. Asian food sampling (till supplies last), kids booth area, cultural Asian attire, cultural performances and many more.

Open Streets ICT - Nomar takes place along 21st Street in Wichita, for a full day of biking, fun physical activities, music, dancing, yoga, and much more!
We will be closing one mile of 21st Street to traffic from NoMar Market at Broadway Ave. to Woodland Park, and open the street for biking, walking, running, live music and dancing, entertainment, food, art, yoga, and more. Cruise along the one mile stretch and stop at our activity hubs, participating businesses, food and street vendors.

Better Together is partnering with West Haven Baptist Church to host a community job and resource fair for Tonganoxie-area residents on Thursday, May 2 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The community job fairs are part of Better Together’s “Better Jobs” program, which has helped 42,000 applicants connect with employment opportunities across 22 states. At job fairs hosted by Better Together, two-thirds of attendees get a job interview, and 1 in 4 receive a job offer on the spot. Some 70% find work within six weeks.
The May 2 job fair will take place at West Haven Baptist Church, located at 1000 West St. in Tonganoxie. Job seekers and hiring employers can register at BetterTogetherUS.org/Events/Tonganoxie-JF/ or by texting “JOBS” to 844-987-3949.
In conjunction with Fully Dimensional: Artists of the Outdoor Sculpture Collection, sculptor Randy Regier will give an artist’s talk in the form of a staged field demo beside his sculpture, The Celestial Mechanic (2016-2018). Regier will open the clear dome that encases the partially excavated figure and offer a rare close look at the work, discussing his process as it connects to archeological procedures and theories. This free event will be in collaboration with WSU Archeology faculty and students in the Department of Anthropology, and will be held outdoors, at the sculpture site just north of Ahlberg Hall. Reception onsite at 5:30 p.m., program at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend this free talk.

Become a digital artist and learn how to draw with a stylus and a digital tablet. These tablets can be used in place of a mouse to draw or paint digitally as well as edit photos. You will learn how to create your own digital art using Krita, a free open-source raster graphics editor designed primarily for digital art and 2D animation.
We are a group of individuals practicing cultivation of the mind. All ages and people are welcome. Each week we have a thirty minute guided meditation followed by discussion. Our topics include meditation practice and living a life of compassion and contemplation. You do not need to have any experience to join and you will be welcomed by a very loving group of individuals. This is not a religious gathering.
