The annual Red Hot Chili Pepper 5K & Little Pepper Run will be held Sept. 25 in Newton. Race day registration and packet pick-up opens at 7:30 a.m. at Newton Recreation Center. All youth and adult participants who are registered by Sept. 6 will receive a T-shirt and finisher's medal.

The Little Pepper Run is approximately 1K on a closed course near the Rec Center and begins at 8:30 a.m.

The Red Hot Chili Pepper 5K will begin at 9 a.m. and will follow a scenic loop along Sand Creek, ending at the Recreation Center.

All 5K participants will also receive a ticket to the Harvey County United Chili Cook-off, which begins in downtown Newton at 11 a.m. Additional tickets may be purchased.
